Post 16 - Catching up - AGAIN!

Well it's getting close to a month since we last posted - bad us!
First big news - I cut my hair!!!  Well it's big news for me, I got 11 inches off!  Not a huge fan of the cut - its too choppy for my liking, but I like how light it is an how easy it is to brush now - I also got Andrew to dye it darker which I really like!  The last week of May/first week of June we were house-sitting for my parents who were off galavanting in Florida with my sister Sarah and her little family - I was very sad to be left behind!

But it was ok because in early June we went to Denver for Andrews nephew (Stephen) wedding!  We drove down with another nephew, and Andrews brother Alan and sister-inlaw Erin.  It was brutal - we drove straight through the night - 22 hrs!  We got to Andrews sister Tanias on a Thursday afternoon and got to work right away, Andrew and Alan laid new flooring in the bathroom and Erin and I were working figuring out layouts and which decorations were needed for the open house the next night.  Andrews sister Janet was also there helping with decorations and cleaning!  We were staying with Andrews other sister Wendy just outside of the city in a BEAUTIFUL area with lots of little acreages.
Friday we got to do a little shopping and managed to eat at Cafe Rio (which Andrew was thrilled about!) before heading over to Tanias to get things ready for the open house.  That afternoon was spent making tons of tissue paper flowers and a banner amongst other things - weddings are a lot of work and we were just helping with the open house!  It was a great success I'd say.

Saturday was the wedding at the Denver Colorado Temple - we got to go in for the ceremony and it was quite nice!  After a few pictures we were off to Maggianos Little Italy for the reception, its this really cute restaurant with delicious food!  It was served family style, so you just passed around these huge dishes and it was bottomless - so we tried to eat as much as we could!  It was a really nice reception, and it was nice not to have to do anything for it!  That night at Wendys we also got to shoot guns!  And the boys shot the bow - which would have been way to hard for us wimpy girls to pull back!  I even thought the gun was heavy.... I really need to build up some muscle before this baby comes!  Sunday we went to a shortened version of church, then went to Tanias for Sunday dinner before driving off into the sunset.... to Moab, Utah!

We spent that next day at Arches National Park hiking around in the +40C heat to see some arches.  We were smart though, and had a little siesta during the middle of the day (Andrew and I went swimming while Alan and Erin napped) then hiked to Delicate Arch (definately the most famous arch) in the evening.  It is a really neat hike and the arch at the end is totally worth it!

Its in the distance

The next morning Andrew and I went hiking again, while Alan and Erin slept in (something that doesn't get to happen often with 4 kids!)  We got to see (again) some really cool arches!

Then that afternoon we headed north to Salt Lake City, Utah where we spent the next day shopping and visiting (we stayed with Andrews Aunt Carol)! We managed to eat at Zupas (it was Andrew's first time ever) 3 times - it's my favourite along with Texas Roadhouse (also my favourite) and Amy's recommended Kneaders for all you can eat cinnamon french toast (which turned out to be Andrews favourite)!  We also tried to stalk my sister Amy, who is serving the the SLC south mission, but we didn't ever find her - we found the house she was living at though!
First time trying Cafe Zupas!

Amys house!  (Well the one she's living at right now...!)
We were supposed to start driving home Thursday morning, but Alan and Erin were up all night sick with food poisoning, so it wasn't going to happen (driving home)!  They slept most of Thursday, while Andrew and I watched Safe Haven, drove up and walked around MillCreek Canyon, ate at Cafe Zupas (again) and tried to find Amy (again)!
3rd time to Zupas!

Wouldn't you want to eat this all the time too??

Baby bump in MillCreek Canyon
We started the drive home that night at about 10pm and again went straight though, getting home around 2pm Friday.  Saturday I had to work and Andrew got to go fishing the lucky kid - he managed to catch 2 fish, but wasn't allowed to keep either of them.
On the drive home - just after sunrise
That brings us to this week!  We both just worked to make money for our next great adventure - we're going to MEXICO tomorrow for a week to stay at an all-inclusive!  Woo-hoo!  My dentist is taking a vacation, which means I don't have to work, and I couldn't bare the thought of just hanging around Edmonton for a week, so spur of the moment on Sunday we decided to book something!  I'm calling it our babymoon since it will be the last chance we have to do something like this for a while!
